As compared to the previous generation of RTX cards, the RTX4090 will cost $1,600 in the US and $1,959 in Europe.
Prices of RTX 4090 and 4080 Custom Models
In just a few days after launch, RTX 4090s were virtually nonexistent in several countries, and the situation was not much better in Europe, where only expensive custom models were available. In the United States, the RTX 4080 will cost $1,199, while in Europe, the price is €1,462, a result of the euro’s decline against the dollar, among other factors.
The prices of many RTX 4080 models were recently displayed by the hardware store micro center, which can be used to determine the cost of custom models. It looks like the prices for custom RTX 4080 models vary quite a bit, so it‘s definitely worth shopping around to find the best deal. If you‘re looking to build your own rig, then make sure you factor in the cost of graphics cards when budgeting.
To begin with, we have four models that cost the same as the Founders version: $1,199 from GIGABYTE, Eagle, Zotac Trinity, ASUS TUF, or PNY XLR8 Gaming Green. However, prices begin to rise from now on, with GIGABYTE Eagle OC costing $1,239, GIGABYTE Gaming $1,269, MSI Ventus $1,279, and MSI Gaming X Trio $1 324.
Last but not least, we come to the top end of the RTX 4080 with the GIGABYTE AORUS MASTER at $1 349, followed by MSI X Delete and Zotac Extreme AIRO both at $1 399. But now comes the biggest nonsense: ASUS TUF, which costs $1 199, has a $300 price increase for overclocked version. And if that wasn’t enough, the Asus RTX 4080 ROG Strix retails at 1 550 dollars, which is 50 dollars lower than the RTX 4090.
Cheapest RTX 4080 in Europe is €1599
The cheapest model of the RTX 4080 in Europe is € 1599, which is already 130 USD above the Founder’s price. The worrying part is how much prices will rise from here. PNY‘s XLR8 is the next cheapest graphics card at €1729, which is a whopping 260 USD more expensive than the reference card. As we can see from MicroCenter Store, the fact that the card is overclocked indicates an approximate 20% increase in price. 60 or 70 dollar price increase.
The most expensive of them all, which is Asus ROG Strix, costs 2059€ for the standard model and 2129€ for the overclocked version, is the GIGABYTE gaming, which costs € 1839 without and 1889 with the OC. The RTX4080 release date is just around the corner, and if you‘re looking to get your hands on one of these bad boys then you‘d better start saving up. They definitely won‘t come cheap, so be prepared to spend a pretty penny if you want in on the action.
However, it’s worth noting that AMD will be releasing their own high-end GPUs the RX7900XT and RX7900XTX just one month after NVIDIA‘s offering hits shelves. And judging by early reports, these cards will offer some serious competition in terms of price and performance. So if you‘re not set on getting an RTX4080 specifically, it might be worth holding out a little longer to see what else is on the market.
